Note from the Artist: Frogs and toads continue to fascinate me in numerous ways. Their ability to adapt and coexist with humans is one I want to reciprocate. Another allure is the fact that their presence alone signifies a healthy ecosystem. When there are an abundance of frogs, their environment is thriving. Several months ago I was cleaning my grandmothers yard and had to organize a stack of lumber. I started to gently move each board careful to not disrupt the life that inhabited the wood dwelling. Under a redwood board lay a beautiful green toad. I filled with excitement and awe at the sight of the magnificent critter. I was able to study the amphibian for a moment and praise the little one for its existence and hard work. When I returned to my studio I had the perfect piece of jade I had been saving for just the right project. This carving symbolizes the significance these creatures play in the world and in my creativity.

The Cord: This piece is strung on a polyester/nylon blend cord with hand-carved beads of the same jade, that slide to adjust cord length. The length range of this cord is about 15-30,” but this varies, so please call us if you need your cord to be specifically tailored to you at no extra charge.
